“The human body relies on a magnitude of interconnected cells, body systems and senses – each with its unique function – to serve the universal cause of vitality. Why would things outside the body work differently? In a way, all good things are co-created.”

Susan Levine Reviews Kinderfli Ignite Book about Parenting Neurodiverse Children
“The Firefly Theory ought to send alarm bells to world leaders that neuro-diverse children – in fact, all children – require a combination of nutrients and a healthy environment to thrive. Alda Smith renders comprehensible, the energy system that is produced by DNA in concert with nutrients and our fragile environment. I loved reading this lyrical, well-researched and illustrated text. Smith’s book will be wonderful for students of human biology, parents of neuro-diverse children and for all parents whose sense of purpose and well-being is to raise happy and healthy children.”
Susan Levine, Associate Professor of Medical Humanities, University of Cape Town.
Professor Pieter Rousseau Fourie Reviews Kinderfli Ignite Book about Parenting Neurodiverse Children
“It was an exciting and enlightening experience to read IGNITE! The Firefly Theory by Alda Smith. I thoroughly appreciated the graphical layout and the contents of each topic, explained in simple layman’s terms, yet supported by a scientific foundation. A must for every parent with a neurodiverse child, those with neurotypical children, as well as educators, medical personnel, and support teams who need to comprehend the complexity and psychosocial dynamics that parents with these amazing children have to champion. This book will complement the already existing armamentarium of support structures developed over the past decade, intending to optimise each child’s full intellectual and physical potential. We all share in your dream and vision, Alda, and would like to thank you for sharing your experience with us!”

Professor Steve Reid Reviews Kinderfli Ignite Book about Parenting Neurodiverse Children
“Alda Smith has produced a wonderfully accessible explanation of how we are made, as unique human beings, that integrates scientific facts with her experiences as a mother. The Firefly Theory makes so much sense from the medical point of view – the three-way balance between genetics, nutrients and stimulation is exactly what we all need. Accompanied by a series of lovely illustrations and stories that are personal and engaging, this book is an extremely valuable resource for others looking for ways to make a difference not only in their own children’s precious lives, but children in every situation.”
Steve Reid Professor and Chair: Primary Health Care, University of Cape Town.
